Serving New Mexico's Gay Community

At New Mexico Surrogacy, we have some important goals: supporting families in their journey to have a baby, supporting New Mexican women who want to carry babies for families who can’t carry their own baby, and being a good ally to the LGBTQ community here in New Mexico. This last one is also one of our core values: we believe that all people have the right to have a family, regardless of sexual orientation and marriage status. And we know that while it’s gotten ever-so-slightly easier to be an LGBTQ parent since Obergefell and the subsequent “constellation of benefits” ruling, there’s still a lot of work to be done.

Gay parents looking into starting a family through surrogacy often have a lot of questions: whose names can be on our baby’s birth certificate? Is there a way for both of us to be genetically related to our child? Will surrogates work with a single gay parent? What are the laws that protect our parental rights? (For answers to these questions and many others, please visit our FAQ page, or call us at 505-835-6527!). It’s important that you have an expert guide along your journey, and a guide who believes in your basic right to be a parent.

When you come to New Mexico Surrogacy, you can rest assured that we are knowledgeable when it comes to the New Mexico judiciary (meaning that we know the ins and outs of the legal side of surrogacy and LGBTQ parents), and you can rest assured that we have personally met and thoroughly screened all gestational carriers (GCs) who come through our program. Several of our GCs have a preference to work with gay parents because they also feel deeply about supporting the gay parenting community. Best of all, we are local and we know the issues facing the LBGTQ community here, and we know how to advocate for our LGTBQ intended parents (IPs). In addition, we are proud members of the Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD) and we have taken the Gay Parents Assistance Pledge (GPAP) through Men Having Babies.

At the end of the day, we are committed to supporting you and your family, regardless of what that family looks like. It’s not just the because of the business we are in, but because we believe in families – all of them. If you’d like more information on how to start (or continue!) your family through surrogacy, please email us at info@newmexicosurro.com.
